MUSEUM NOTES: JUNE 17, 2020

ADULT EDUCATION CLASS “MARKETING THROUGH GOOGLE”
Our very own Elizabeth Escamilla will teach an hour long class for local businesses to learn how to use Google for their businesses. Last year, Elizabeth took a Google course provided by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. After the class, she came back to the museum very excited about all the different things the museum could do to advertise more through Google. I think I’ve mentioned before that she has done a fantastic job with our social media.

During the coronavirus shut down, she and I both noticed that some of the businesses in Canadian do not utilize their Google accounts and social media (Facebook and Instagram) much or even not at all. With Fourth of July coming soon, and Canadian hosting one of the few rodeos in the Panhandle, we thought it would be beneficial if more businesses could update their information on Google. I know when I travel, I often Google search where to eat and what to do before I leave my house.

So, on Tuesday, July 23rd, Elizabeth will teach a class in Spanish for Canadian’s Spanish speaking businesses. On Thursday, July 25th, she will teach the same class in English. Both classes will start at 6pm. Please bring a smart phone, tablet, or laptop to work on your Google business account during the class. You can also bring food or drink for yourself as we will not provide refreshments.

This is a FREE class that is open to everyone. You do not need to be a member of the museum and the museum will not charge you to attend. By no means are we experts on Google business accounts, but we thought we would share what knowledge we do have with everyone else to help make Canadian’s businesses more searchable on Google. Call us at 806-323-6548 if you have any questions.

QUILTING CLASS
This past Saturday, we had a great time learning how to sew a quilt top by Kathy Province. Kathy provided an easy pattern to follow and provided hands-on help as we all needed some help. We hope we can have another quilt class in the future!
