MUSEUM NOTES: FEBRUARY 27, 2019

CHANGE IS GOOD

First and foremost, I want to welcome our new assistant, Elizabeth Escamilla. She is originally from Canadian and has strong office and customer service skills. We are very excited to have her onboard and look forward to seeing her grow in her new position!

Secondly, the museum is updating and remodeling the kitchen. We are replacing our counter tops, painting the cabinets, replacing the flooring, painting the walls, adding a stove, and replacing the dishwasher. We are also adding more electrical outlets, to include the island. We will post pictures on our Facebook page as soon as we are finished.

Finally, in early March, the museum is conducting a county wide membership drive. Current and lifetime members should receive their membership letters this week. Everyone else will receive a letter and brochure in two weeks. We hope that this exposure will attract new members and, at the very least, entice residents to come check out their history.

UPCOMING EXHIBITS
The museum is preparing for its next art show, Page Steed’s “Captured Moment’s.” Her photography exhibit opens with an Artist Reception on April 13th and ends on June 14th. We will host two Brown Bag Luncheons, May 8th and June 12th, with Page. We will put out more information as time gets closer.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The museum needs volunteers to help clean the saddles on display. Some of them just need a shine, but others need a deeper clean. Please call, 806-323-6548, or come by if you are interested.
