MUSEUM NOTES: JANUARY 16, 2018

MUSEUM 2018

This time of the year slows down at the museum as far as special events are concerned. However, this provides time for us to catch up on general office duties, work on our archival collection and whatever else we have not been able to do during our busy season.

1920'S CLOTHING EXHIBIT
Wendy is working on a 1920’s clothing exhibit which should be up by early February. All clothing will come from the museum’s collection, and should make for an interesting exhibit

UPCOMING TRAVELING EXHIBIT: HOMETOWN TEAMS
We are beginning some leg work concerning the traveling exhibit, Hometown Teams, which is a partnership between the Smithsonian and TSHA. The focus of Hometown Teams is to examine the role that sports play in American society, and celebrating who we are. Canadian is one of seven museums in Texas that has been selected to host this exhibit, and by far the smallest community. Dates for Canadian are November 27 through December 21.

MUSEUM MEETING SPACE
Do you need a place for special events or business meetings? Give us a call and we will be happy to answer questions you might have. We also provide table and chair rental.
