MUSEUM NOTES: May 10, 2017

"WEDDING DRESSES OF THE PAST"

If you have not gotten by to see this wonderful exhibit, take time to do so. Each dress has a local connection with interesting information on each of these ladies and the dress style. This exhibit will be up through May 19th.

THORNS AND HORNS, WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAMED

For the months of June and July, artist Dallas Mayer will be showing her artwork in the museum gallery room. Ranch lady, accomplished artist, wife, mother and grandmother describe Dallas Mayer to a “tee”. “Living on a ranch all my life with my art world right outside my door, that God so graciously has provided, is my inspiration. I am part of my landscape. I have found fulfillment here on our ranch as an artist painting the things I love”. We are excited to have Dallas show at the museum and believe you will enjoy her work. Thursday, June 1st, from 5-7pm will be an open house with cowboy poetry and refreshments. Mark your calendar and we hope to see you at the museum.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

We are always trying to find ways for the public to be involved with the museum, and this photography contest is one way to do just that. This contest is open to all ages of amateur photographers. Choose a subject that you love and start snapping shots. We have had an interesting year to say the least, which provides many interesting and heartbreaking subjects. Your photograph needs to be an 8x10 and at the museum by May 26th. All visitors will be able to vote for their favorite photograph.

TABLE AND CHAIR RENTAL
Are you planning a special event and find yourself looking to rent tables and chairs, the museum can help you. Need a room for that business meetings or party? Our gallery room provides a nice space for your crowd. The museum also has a large tent available for that outdoor event. Give us a call and we will be happy to answer questions.
